Vestibular conditions

  • When you roll over in bed, does the room spin for a few moments?

    Do you feel dizzy in certain environments?

    Do you constantly feel like you are fighting your balance?

    Individuals with vestibular disorders often experience problems with dizziness, vertigo, visual disturbances, lightheadedness, headaches, and/or imbalance. These problems can often significantly impact someone's quality of life. When dealing with a vestibular issue, it is common for people to withdraw from activities and social situations in order to avoid movements or situations that can trigger symptoms. This can lead to feelings of isolation, depression and anxiety. 

  • Vestibular rehabilitation involves a comprehensive assessment that can help determine what may be contributing to your symptoms. 

    Treatment may involve:

    • Education

    • Repositioning maneuvres

    • Balance training

    • Exercises to get your visual and vestibular system working better together. 

  • Conditions that we treat, but are not limited to:

    • BPPV  aka " loose crystals in the ear"

    • Vestibular Neuritis 

    • Labyrinthitis 

    • Unilateral Vestibular Loss (UVL)

    • Bilateral Vestibular Loss (BVL)

    • Post concussion dizziness 

    • Visual-vestibular mismatch

    • Imbalance
