ORTHOPAEDIC PHYSIOTHERAPY

  • Orthopaedic physiotherapy involves the assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal system (which is made up of muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments and fascia) that has been subject to injury or trauma. This includes sprains, strains, post fracture, post surgery and repetitive injuries. 

  • Treatment may include:

    • Education

    • Manual therapy: soft tissue release, mobilizations and self mobilization techniques

    • Movement retraining

    • Gait retraining

    • Exercise prescription

    • Taping for support or facilitation

    • Functional dry needling/acupuncture
