in home physiotherapy

Have you recently had an injury or surgery that makes it difficult to drive or leave the house?

Do you have a health condition that may limit the amount of energy you have to drive to an appointment or sit in a busy waiting room?

Do you want support to help you move safely and more independently in your home?

orthopaedic physiotherapy

Orthopaedic physiotherapy involves the assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal system (which is made up of the muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments and fascia) that has been subject to injury or trauma. This includes physiotherapy to help regain movement and function after a fracture or surgery, as well as sprains, strains and repetitive stress injuries.

fall prevention

Decreasing the risk of falls in your home is a huge predictor of quality of life and maintaining independence in your activities of daily living. As we age, we lose muscle strength and balance which can increase our risk of falls. The good news is physiotherapy can help by focusing on strengthening and balance exercises along with addressing any safety concerns in the home that may contribute to a fall.

  • CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome)

  • POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tacchycardia syndrome)

Additionally, we are able to work more specifically toward your movement goals by seeing how you function in your home environment. We can help problem solve any mobility challenges and work with you to maximize your independence.

If falls are a concern for you, working on balance, mobility, and strengthening in your home environment can be helpful. We can also look for potential fall risks and work together to reduce those in the home. Practicing balance skills in the community is also helpful for increasing confidence with moving while out and about.
